The World Cup with Moroccan Eyes

Now that the world cup has ended with France as winner, it’s time to watch how Moroccans reacted to its events from what I’ve seen on the streets and what I heard from people and what was trending on social media. Everything started after the referee whistle at the end of the game of Morocco against Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan declaring that Morocco is one of the 5 nations representing Africa in the World Cup. A draw would have been enough for the Moroccan national team, but they players went to Côte d’Ivoire with one goal in mind: win the game and prove that they deserve their ticket to Russia. Just after the game the streets in all Moroccan cities were filled with people celebration this win by chanting songs. Morocco didn’t sleep that night. Moroccan people waited for this achievement for 20 years since Morocco didn’t put a foot in the World Cup since 1998 in France. It was even more special for me and my generation since I was born in 1999 and never seen such accompl

El clasico, Back to the top

It has been a really tough week for Barcelona fans. First they had to watch their biggest enemy win the match against Bayern Munich on tuesday, then they had to see their team out of the UEFA Champions League after losing the first leg in Torino the previous week. For all these reasons Barcelona players needed to bring back the joy to the fans' hearts and no better oppartunity than the Clasico for them to do that.
The match doesn't seem to be easy to Barcelona players, especially that Real Madrid is in the best shape physically and mentally after winning a hard match against the bavarian team, the match that lasted for 120 minutes and brought with it lots of talk about the referees in Europe.
El Clasico took place in Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid's stadium. the game was hard for both teams even that there was more pressure on the blaugrana. Real Madrid was the first to meet Barcelona's goalkeeper by many attemptes and they were able to score first in the 28th minute. Real Madrid couldn't hold the lead for more than 5 minutes, when Messi scored the equoliser. and the first half ended 1-1.
The second half started and both Real Madrid and Barcelona were aiming for the victory, because if the white team wins the difference between them will jump to 6 points, but if Barcelona wins their will be no difference between them. At the 73rd minute Ivan Rakitic scord for Barcelona the second goal. After that the game becae even harder for the Meringue with a red card for the captain Sergio Ramos who will be missing for the next three matches. All that didn't stop Real Madrid from scorring another goal at the 86th minute. After that goal everyone thaught that the match will end with a tie, but yet Barcelona had more to give and after 2 minutes in the additonal time, the man of the match Lionel Messi scors the winning goal for Barcelona and complet 500 goals.
It was a really entertaining math from both sides. This score made Barcelona on the top of the table besides Real Madrid and gave the Catalonian team another chance to win the title this year.
