The World Cup with Moroccan Eyes

Now that the world cup has ended with France as winner, it’s time to watch how Moroccans reacted to its events from what I’ve seen on the streets and what I heard from people and what was trending on social media. Everything started after the referee whistle at the end of the game of Morocco against Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan declaring that Morocco is one of the 5 nations representing Africa in the World Cup. A draw would have been enough for the Moroccan national team, but they players went to Côte d’Ivoire with one goal in mind: win the game and prove that they deserve their ticket to Russia. Just after the game the streets in all Moroccan cities were filled with people celebration this win by chanting songs. Morocco didn’t sleep that night. Moroccan people waited for this achievement for 20 years since Morocco didn’t put a foot in the World Cup since 1998 in France. Usain Bolt Loses His Title For Justin Gatlin

Justin GatlinToday, the entire world stopped for almost 10 seconds to watch the fastest man in history run maybe for the last time of his career in the world championships. After an easy win yesterday in the quarterfinals, track and field fans around the globe felt so good for seeing Usain Bolt at a great form in his last days in on the track. But the same fans got a little worried watching him in the second place in the semifinals, though the race was a little quick for a qualification race but we are not used to see Bolt in the second place whatever the reasons are.
Bolt SemifinalBolt was lined up with the world class sprinters. He was in the 4th lane besides the second fastest man of history Yohan Blake in the 7th, the fastest man this year Coleman in the 5th and his greater opponent Justin Gatlin in the 8th.

The race started, and just like the semifinals it didn’t start well for Usain with Coleman leading it in the beginning. And when everybody was thinking that the gold is going to be between Bolt and Coleman, Justin Gatling came out of the blue and won the race.

For me and I am a Bolt fan, I actually was excited to see someone else win the 100 meters race after this long time of him with almost no competition. Though, I am not that excited for Gatlin because I don’t think it will take him much time before he retires. On the other hand, I am very happy to see a young face competing at this level and getting a silver medal ahead of Bolt. I wish him the best in the following years.

We still wait to see bolt in the 200 meters and the relay competitions. And I am personally waiting for a way batter performance from him.
