The World Cup with Moroccan Eyes

Now that the world cup has ended with France as winner, it’s time to watch how Moroccans reacted to its events from what I’ve seen on the streets and what I heard from people and what was trending on social media. Everything started after the referee whistle at the end of the game of Morocco against Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan declaring that Morocco is one of the 5 nations representing Africa in the World Cup. A draw would have been enough for the Moroccan national team, but they players went to Côte d’Ivoire with one goal in mind: win the game and prove that they deserve their ticket to Russia. Just after the game the streets in all Moroccan cities were filled with people celebration this win by chanting songs. Morocco didn’t sleep that night. Moroccan people waited for this achievement for 20 years since Morocco didn’t put a foot in the World Cup since 1998 in France. It was even more special for me and my generation since I was born in 1999 and never seen such accompl

UEFA Campions League draw

Last friday, football fans all around the world were waiting to see the results of UEFA Champions league draw after knowing the identity of the teams that made it to the quarterfinals. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus, Liecester City, Monaco, Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are the 8 teams on this round. This draw was pretty balanced putting Leicester City against Atlético Madrid, Borussia Dortmund with Monaco, Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich and Barcelona vs Juventus.
Leicester City reached this stage for the first time in history, and they are playing against a team with a very similar style. In the other side Atlético Madrid is in the quarterfinals for the fourth time in row. Both teams use a system based on deep defence and counter attack relying on their rapid strikers, Jamey Vardy from Leicester  and Antoine Griezmann from Atlético.
After the first leg of the previous round many people thought that Manchester City is the team that is going to make it to the quarterfinals, but Monaco hade a little surprise for them in the second leg. Thanks to the clever coach and the good quality of the players, Monaco played an amazing match and found its place in this round, and they seem pretty challanging for the other teams. In the other hand, Borussia Dortmund don't seem to have any fear from any ather team, Borussia took the first place in the groupe stage even with Real Madrid being in the same groupe. The only way to discribe their attack is that they are a goals machine. So this match is defenitly going to be vey entertaining.
In another match between to big team, the master will face his student, of course i am talking about Ancelotti and his former assistant in Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane who completed what Ancelotti had began with the team. This match is going to be played between two teams with very different styles, Bayen with his system based on possession ofthe ball and Real with system based on their world-class strikers.
But still the main event, of course it's the rematch of the final a couple years ago when Barcelona faced Juventus in Berlin and Barcelona won 3 to 1. This year the match seems to be even more amusing. Barcelona had made it clear that they are gonning to do whatevere it takes to win the Champions League especialy after '' La Remontada ''  against PSG. But let's not forget about Juventus, the team is leading the "Serie A" by a big defferance ahead the other teams.
I think that the match between Barcelona and Juventus is the most intresting match in this round. And I hope that Barcelona can find its way to the title.
